Frequently Asked Questions:
Why should I use a sling?
Babies have been carried close to their parents' bodies for thousands of years, across many cultures. Every parent knows how hard it is to put your newborn down! The simple clean design of our pouch style sling allows parent and baby to be body-to-body, creating intimacy and strengthening bonds, which fosters healthy independence as the baby grows. The sling carrier provides the baby with a warm, secure environment, which is enhanced by the constant motion of the parent's movements, as well as by the sound of the parent's heart beat and voice
Babies carried in slings cry less, because the parent is more in tune with their needs. Sling carried babies learn faster because they are calmer and more relaxed. Carrying your baby in a sling also helps develops good muscle tone, in both parent and child. The weight of the child is evenly distributed across the shoulders, hips, and back of the parent, and the baby gains good, early control of his/her neck and head. Most importantly, however, wearing your baby is the best way to establish close emotional attachment.
Can I just buy a pouch sling a little bit big so the baby can grow into it?
No, The sling is fit to the wearer's size and not so much the baby. Please try and follow the sizing guide on the sling page to find the best fit. If the sling is too big you will experience strain on your lower back and if it is too small the baby will not be comfortable. We want to promote you wearing your baby, and for you both to enjoy it, size does matter.
Where should a pouch sling come to on my body when the baby is in "cradle carry"?
Your sling should not pass more than 2" below your navel. If it is, your lower back may experience discomfort, we suggest a size smaller for the best fit.
How long can I use my sling for?
You can carry your baby up to 35lbs, or about 3.5yrs old. But you will have to decide mostly on comfort. Our slings have been made to be used from birth to toddler. Wearer's comfort is the only real variable. If you are finding your toddler is too heavy for the pouch sling, try one of our soft carriers (Mei Tai) which is great for lugging your toddlers around.

Our pouch slings are a fitted style carrier, and can be custom made to fit you perfectly. However, slight adjustments can be made by using folds such as the Half Shoulder Flip. Our latest addition, the Mei Tai, which is a soft pack carrier is one size fits all.
Can my baby fall out of the sling?
As long as the baby is properly positioned he or she will not fall out. We have provided extensive instructions for a variety of ways to carry your Sacred Baby. Common sense is key.
Do Dads wear slings too?
Absolutely, our carriers are an excellent way for a new Dad to bond with their newborn, but better yet, as the child grows you can carry them in all the carrying positions listed in the instructions page to continue that bond for years to come. Our Mei Tai collection is awesome for Daddies!
