How to use your sling
safely and correctly:

To maximize the comfort of both baby and babywearer, the sling must be correctly put on. Your sling comes pre folded in half length wise and should remain folded for all positions. If you open up your sling it will not form the contoured pouch that will safely carry your Sacred Baby.

Slide the sling over your head like a sash, ensuring it lays flat across your back (not unfolded remember). The reinforced seam, which is specially curved to conform to your baby's body, must be in the middle of your chest (not on your shoulder). Now you are ready to place your baby in the pouch.

The ribbon near the seam is a loop for toys, keys, soother clip and just about anything else you can think of. Most babies love to chew or suck on the ribbon as well.

Cuddle Carry- Newborn to 6 months (Best position for breastfeeding) Until your newborn can hold its head up, the Cradle Carry position should be used.

Pull one side of the sling up against your chest to create a deep, secure pouch. While holding the sling open with one hand, slide your baby in the pouch bum first, with his head on either side of the fabric making sure he is at a 45-90 degree angle. Newborns love to be swaddled, so don't worry if your baby appears to be squished. The depth of the sling can be adjusted by placing a folded receiving blanket under the baby.

Tummy to Tummy Carry – 3 months to toddler

Slide your baby feet first into the sling with baby's tummy facing yours. Pull legs all the way through and tuck the bottom rail under her knees. Her legs should be straddling your waist and sitting in the sling like a hammock. The top of the sling can be pulled over shoulders or under arm pits, and adjusted by the Shoulder Flip to bring baby closer if need be.

Yoga Baby - 3 - 12 months. This carry is for babies who have gained head control.

For this position ensure the seam is at the center of your chest. While holding your baby with her back to your chest (legs crossed) open up pouch with one hand and pop her bum and legs inside, yoga style. Her arms can be in or out of the sling. If you want to tighten it to pull baby closer, simply do the Shoulder Flip.
Babies love this squishy position, and being able to see their world and learn from what you go about.

Hipster - 6 months to 35 lbs. This position can be used as soon as your baby can sit up. It is an excellent way to carry heavier babies/toddlers because the majority of baby's weight is supported by your hip.

Start with the Tummy to Tummy Carry, and then simply slide the sling/child over to your hip. The top rail of the sling should either come up to his shoulders or just below his armpits, and the bottom rail should be tucked under the baby's knees. The Shoulder Flip works well with this hold to bring baby closer to you.

Back Pack- 12 months to 35 lbs. The Back Carry position is ideal for older children.

Start with the Hip Carry, and carefully slide child around to your back. The child's arms can be inside or outside the sling. You can use the Half Shoulder Flip to pull baby closer to you, simply fold the outer layer of the sling at the shoulder. This can be used to adjust the level of support provided by the sling.

*do not attempt this carry with an uncooperative toddler; wait until they are willing to be carried.

 Duo Pack-

Birth to weight permitting!. This carry is for those parents with twins or children close in age.

It is the same as most of the carrying positions above, just with an extra sling and child. This is not recommended for long periods due to the weight when they get older, but can work for walks around the mall or if you need your arms back for only a few minutes each day!

The half shoulder flip- This technique is used to slightly adjust the size of your sling.

By simply folding the top layer of fabric down over your shoulder it brings your baby in closer to your body.
